Today I stayed home, since it's Christmas. I got outside to shovel after the plows went through again. I brought my bike inside the house to thaw out. You can see from the pictures it still had a lot of ice and snow on it from yesterday's ride! My bike mechanic said to get the bike working again, it needs to dry out thoroughly in a warm room every once in a while. My gears haven't worked for about a month, so maybe they'll work again, for a few days anyway. I also oiled the chain, derailleurs, and brakes:
From Dec. 22, 2008 to mar. 14, 2010 I posted about my daily commute in Madison, Wisconsin. It was fun to log pictures of the bike path and my brief thoughts and weather conditions throughout the year. Then I got interested in other things and stopped blogging for over a year. I still commute daily, even longer now (7 miles one way) and absolutely love it.
Now I'm blogging my biking experiences while traveling. I love to take my road bike and mountain bike along with me on road trips in the car. It's a great way to see the country and meet locals. It makes business and family trips a lot more fun, in addition to vacations.
